Photography has been my passion for as long as I can remember. To me, it is more than freezing an image. Much like when a certain song comes on the radio, a well-documented photo not only helps with remembering a moment, but it allows the viewer to relive that memory; to feel it as if it were unfolding all over again right in front of their eyes. This is what makes being a photographer so important to me.
My photography journey started when I borrowed my mother’s point-and-shoot Canon Powershot, well before I knew what the word composition meant, and began photographing my friends skateboarding and snowboarding. It wasn’t until I had taken a photography class in high school did I begin to look for ways to tell the story behind a set of images. While I primarily still shoot action sports, I have taken that story-telling approach and applied it to many other walks of life, from weddings to lifestyle portraiture and events. I utilize the importance of capturing an image with a split-second time frame, and I apply it to all projects, treating every moment as equal to an athlete risking their bodies in the apex of a trick. I would describe my photography style as photojournalistic realism, meaning I always look for unique angles to tell the full story of that moment. I enjoy trying new things and taking a creative approach to every shoot, hoping to provide the most interesting storytelling possible through moments and what happens in between them.
I look forward to working with you!
